I know this is Energizer NiMH AAA rechargeable batteries but I also bought AA batteries (2300maH) of the same brand. The AAA batteries I have had for 2.5 years and I use them lightly, I charge them up on average maybe once a month. Used in LED flashlights, calculators. They are all still working fine today. They can keep my TI graphing calculator working for a few months before needing a recharge. The self-discharge rate is perfectly acceptable. The Energizer AA batteries, I've had them for about 3 years and I use them exclusively for my Flip Video camcorder which takes 2 AA batteries. They used to be able to take almost 3 hours of video per pair of batteries, very impressive. I used it quite a lot, recording all my class lectures and recording all interesting things to me, hobbies, and in this past year I have been using it a ton, because I now use the camcorder as a dash cam too, so the batteries probably average a near full discharge/recharge about 3-4 times a week and a few light charges in between when I just feel like topping off. This is the average with me having 4 batteries, two pairs for my camcorder. Each battery sees that charging frequency. So now the batteries have high internal resistance. The capacity I'm sure is less than when brand new but more importantly my flip video is not happy with the batteries anymore. I forced them to discharge by putting them in an incandescent flash light. I noticed the bulb was very, very dim at first and then it got brighter after being on for a few minutes. That was after I charged the batteries and let them sit for a few days. I let it drain completely until the bulb went out and then did a full, slow 300mA recharge. I repeated this once more.A few of them worked for about an hour in my camcorder but 1 just didn't work at all and the other worked when I mixed up the batteries. So now they are in their retirement, just being used in my wireless mouse, a very very low drain application where internal resistance doesn't matter. The 1 battery that didn't work at all didn't even work in my mouse so it's in the recycle bag.So bottom line, use the batteries a lot, and expect them to last about 3 years give or take if you always charge them slowly with a quality charger. Pretty good deal for the price! I would have a box full of batteries now if I didn't use up these 4 AA NiMHs.I'm now using Powerex 2700maH ("2500maH minimum") AAs, and each pair of 2 batteries can power my flip video for 4 hours!Curious how long these will last.
