It was pretty easy to assemble. The bars are a little more tricky to get right where you want them and tightened down. Works great.After trying several different options for our bathroom, including a towel ladder, double towel racks, etc, this turned out to the the best! It’s unique, works and looks great!! I was a bit skeptical after reading so many of the reviews that the bars down move but, once installed, it’s perfect!Very solid, arms are all the same length, looks great in our cabin loft.Couldn’t wait to get this but the arms are so long and had 2 tiny arms. Disappointed at the least.I read through every single review before purchasing this product and several reviewers mentioned that the arms do not swivel.These are threaded pipes. In order for them to swivel successfully they will need to be loose and lubricated. Before you put this on your wall, take it apart one joint at a time and apply petroleum jelly to the male and female threads with your index finger or cotton swabs, if you prefer.This accomplishes two things:1) Since the threads are not coated, the petroleum jelly will help to prevent rust.2) The petroleum jelly will help the arms swivel.When assembling make sure that the pipes are not screwed in all the way and that there is plenty of play in every single joint. Then as you mount the rack on the wall, adjust the joints to your preference before attaching the final screws. I also found it very helpful not to attach the towel arms until fully mounted to allow all the joints to be adjusted.My father is a master plumber so I knew what I was getting into when I bought this. Overall, I'm impressed by the workmanship. It's nice that it's a vertically aligned towel holder which means that both ends will be screwed into a stud if done correctly. Two of the holes should line up enough to be in the stud with the third hole using a plastic anchor. Of course you can leave the plastic anchor off if you're looking to cut corners but I like to do things properly.Take your time. Take a few deep breaths. Don't rush the installation.This item was fairly easy to install, sturdy and looks great. We had to add felt dots to the backside at the end of each bar because the opposing bars were banging/tapping against the wall when we would move just one one. That's the other issue, when you move one rack the one opposite it will also move. They do move independent of one another but if you move one the other will also budge because the central pipe they are all connected to also rotates and we have to push the opposite rack back into place. We don't move ours much so this is not a big deal for us, but it would be very annoying if we used them often. We love the look and are very satisfied.This was smaller then what I thought it would be. A bath towel would not be able to dry on here!I returned it because it a) doesn't swivel as shown in the pictures, b) scratched off the black paint right away when screwing on and off pieces.It's shown that you can swivel all three bars but in reality, only the middle piece was able to swivel, and that only after I had to use some force to loosen it. The other two bars did not loosen no matter what I did.Would look great and I could even deal with the scratches only if ...I bought this item because it was presented as having arms that swivel. They do not swivel unless you leave the threaded connections loose. When the connections are loose, the whole assembly wobbles, and it takes some fiddling to get it to swivel just right. Even so, I don't like loose wobbly things. I was going to return it - but I will modify the design so it functions the way it should have been made in the first place!I absolutely love this but I did read all the reviews but especially noted A Z’s review - so when I received this, I was totally prepared to spend the time prying the joints apart with a pipe wrench ( yes - I could not get the joints apart without this!), lightly sanding the threads, repainting the couple spots that the pipe wrench marked and following the helpful directions of A Z - thank you for that! All three arms swivel perfectly and I love it in my bathroom!
